INTRVW: Meg Baird

Philly folk musician Meg Baird has been an integral part of the local scene since she first moved here 17 years ago: her gentle melodies and lilting vocals launching both her solo material and work with psych-folk group Espers to national acclaim.

Baird looking pensive

Now, Baird prepares to leave Philly for the West Coast; I caught up with her before her last local show to discuss what's next, and reflect on all she'll miss about the local scene. Head over to XPN's The Key to check it out!

As inspired by tonight's radio show (airing 6 pm EST on XPN2), this week's Music Video Monday seeks to transport. First, Magic Wands visit the netherworld of fairy queens and magic conjuring, in this sultry new vid for "Space":

"Space" appears on the record Aloha Moon, out now.

And Danish/American band GLISS dive in, in an equally bewitching vid for "Weight of Love":

"Weight of Love" appears on the record Langsom Dans, out January 21.
